Established over 100 years ago by founding partner Maurice E Price and later with Colin Biggers and Robert Paisley, Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) has grown into a highly regarded law firm with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

The firm has evolved from what was essentially a commercial and property firm, with considerable work also undertaken for the petroleum industry, to one that today holds top tier expertise in areas such as insurance, construction, property, dispute resolution, commercial law, insolvency, transport, employment and environmental law.

In 2004, CBP formed a close association with Melbourne-based Monahan + Rowell, an insurance-focused firm founded by Patrick Monahan and Clive Brookes in 1987. After many years of successful work together, formal merger talks were initiated in 2011, driven by the benefits a combined firm would bring to both clients and staff. The discussions were aided by a strong alignment between cultures and objectives. The firms officially came together under the CBP brand on 1 June 2012.

CBP has a history of collegiality and stability, with high staff retention levels regularly noted by industry guides and league tables.
