Garvan Institute of Medical Research

CBP supports the Garvan's important and groundbreaking work in biomedical research into diseases such as cancer and diabetes through financial and legal assistance, a workplace giving program, participation in many fundraising initiatives and through the volunteer efforts of our professional and support staff.

Fundraising highlights to date have included the "Nuns' Run" in 2009, supporting two Sisters of Charity who led a 400 kilometre pilgrimage to raise $176,000 for cancer research. In a gesture of solidarity, a quarter of our staff showed up to complete the final leg alongside Sisters Helen and Leone.

In 2010, over 20 staff members volunteered on a Sunday at the Garvan Open Day, which allowed the public to meet and talk to the researchers and get a closer look and better understanding of the groundbreaking work they do.

In 2011 a large and enthusiastic team from CBP participated in the City 2 Surf, raising $6,075 for the Garvan Institute.

In March 2012 we launched our fundraising activities for the year by holding a successful Waffle Day which was organised by and for our staff. This event raised over $500 for the Garvan.
