David Miller is a partner in both the Insurance and the Corporate and Dispute Resolution Groups at CBP. He is regarded as one of Australia's leading lawyers in asbestos-related matters including claims management and indemnity issues and is a regular speaker both here and overseas on those topics. His LLM included significant work on the question of causation and the use of epidemiological evidence in asbestos cases.
David is also experienced in corporate governance and risk management (including regulator actions and Special Commissions of Inquiry), Australian Consumer Law issues, and commercial disputes.
Recent cases include a misleading and deceptive conduct claim for a major FMCG multinational, a complex building defects dispute and a number of first instance and appellate hearings on asbestos related issues.
As a former in-house counsel David is acutely aware of the reputational and financial risks associated with claims and works with his clients to address those aspects of the litigation process.
David was admitted to practise in NSW and Federal courts in 2000.
