CBP has been at the centre of Dunstan de Souza’s professional career since he joined the firm as a graduate solicitor in 1985. He became a partner in 1993, practising primarily in property development, and was subsequently made managing partner in 2007.
Dunstan’s commitment to, and deep understanding of, the firm has enabled him to significantly build on CBP’s successes in recent years.
Under Dunstan’s stewardship, CBP has evolved into an elite firm, recognised for its top tier work, particularly in the specialisations of insurance, construction, property and commercial litigation. Over the past four years, the firm’s revenue growth has exceeded 40 per cent.
Dunstan has been responsible for CBP chalking up many ‘firsts’ in the legal sector. CBP was the first Australian law firm to open an office in the United Arab Emirates. Dunstan is currently also the President, and CBP founding member of ADVOC Asia, an international network of respected law firms established to help clients respond to the opportunities presented by the rapidly growing Asia Pacific economies.
Dunstan’s aspiration is not only for CBP to achieve excellence in all it does, but also to be a firm that is respectful and compassionate, that supports staff to be the best they can be, and builds bridges between people and their communities.
