Geoff Standen leads the Construction & Engineering Group. He has practised extensively in all areas of the law relating to the building, construction and engineering industries and is highly regarded for his work.
Geoff's practice is primarily centred on commercial, industrial, rail, mining, energy and infrastructure projects and extends from project inception to dispute resolution. He is heavily involved in project structuring, contract documentation, project risk analysis and claims advice and management, and also conducts a substantial litigation and alternative dispute resolution practice.
Geoff is involved in major projects including hospitals, prisons and water and sewerage infrastructure and has extensive experience in PPP projects. He also advises participants in the rail, mining & resources, and energy sectors.
Geoff has lectured at the University of New South Wales on commercial arbitration and at the University of Technology Sydney on business law. He also lectures at various conferences and seminars.
Recognised internationally in publications such as the Asia Pacific Legal 500, Geoff has also been acknowledged by his inclusion in 2005 in the "Who's Who Historical Society of Professionals".
Geoff was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1977. Geoff joined CBP in 1984 and became a partner in 1986.
