Linda Murphy is a partner in the Insurance Group of CBP. Linda has extensive experience in directors' and officers' exposure, professional indemnity liability and litigation for insurers, with particular emphasis on coverage.
After a number of years practising in her areas of expertise in Australia, Linda moved to the US and was employed as in-house counsel with a large commercial insurance carrier between 2005 and 2008. During this time, Linda assisted the claims staff and reported to senior management with regard to risks in the carrier's financial institutions', accountants' and large law firm books of business. While working in-house in the US, Linda also had a significant involvement in cases arising out of high profile US corporate scandals including the subprime mortgage crisis, the backdating of stock options and abusive tax shelters.
Linda was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1985. She is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of NSW. Linda first joined CBP as a partner in 2002 and returned to CBP as a partner in 2008 after six years' living in New York.
