Sam advises human resources professionals, employers and senior executives on legal issues arising in the workplace. He also provides advice on general corporation matters. He has advised in numerous complex industrial law situations, often involving different and competing areas of law.
Sam regularly advises on employment contracts, the interpretation of awards and related instruments and the wording of restraint of employment clauses. He has substantial experience in employment and industrial matters which can arise after a merger or business acquisition.
He has helped many employers to plan termination strategies, as well as large and small scale industrial restructures.
Sam advises businesses on corporate governance issues, corporate disclosure and meetings as well as the obligations of directors.
Sam was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1985. He is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court and High Court of Australia. Sam joined CBP in 1996 and became a partner in 2004.
Sam holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and is an Associate of Chartered Secretaries Australia. He is also a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia.
