A partner in the insurance team, Laura's practice focuses on providing advice in relation to, and acting as defence and coverage counsel on a variety of professional indemnity, liability, financial services and construction related claims - including large scale and complex litigation matters.

Laura's clients include Australian and international insurers and reinsurers as well as corporations across Asia Pacific - for whom she acts on legal matters involving insurance, financial services and construction and infrastructure. Laura has acted for insurers and insureds based in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea.

Laura's experience includes providing coverage advice across the full spectrum of construction policies (including professional indemnity, project insurance, material damage, contract works, business interruption, and public liability) on a portfolio of litigated and non-litigated claims. 

Laura also acts as defence counsel on litigated claims on behalf of individual insureds and entities. She has substantial experience in professional indemnity claims, acting for a range of professionals, including architects, engineers, certifiers, surveyors, financial advisors, accountants and mortgage brokers, with a particular focus on the financial services industry and the building and construction industry.

Laura is listed in the 2022 to 2024 editions of Best Lawyers in Australia for professional malpractice litigation and in the 2023 to 2024 editions for her expertise in insurance.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) in addition to her Bachelor of Laws. Laura was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Tasmania on 1 September 2006 and is also admitted to practice in New South Wales.

Laura re-joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2020.
