Colin Biggers & Paisley welcomes new special counsel to their property and development team

9 February 2018
Colin Biggers & Paisley is pleased to announce the appointment of John Douglas as a Special Counsel in their property and development team in Sydney.

John has over 14 years' experience working in commercial property law. John's experience includes commercial, industrial and retail leasing; the acquisition and sale of commercial, industrial and retail property; property development, due diligence; easements; and general leasing and property advice (such as defaulting tenants and make good disputes).

John has acted for a broad range of clients, including listed global companies, high net worth private corporation landlords with substantial landholdings, tenants and Commonwealth and State government departments.

"I am excited to be working for Australia's fastest growing legal practice, and to be joining a team that is so highly regarded in property, planning and development law. With many new changes in this area of practice, I look forward to bringing my experience into the team to contribute to its growth and success", John said.

Head of Colin Biggers & Paisley's property group, Rhett Oliver, is delighted to welcome John to the practice.

"Our property and development team is one of the fastest growing property teams in Australia. John is joining at a pivotal time, with the current changes in e-conveyancing and the growth of our e-leasing platform CBP Lease Manager, which streamlines the process for commercial and retail leases."

"John will be a great asset to our team. His experience and knowledge will further support and strengthen our capabilities."

This follows a number of recent promotions for the legal practice. Julian Mellick was promoted to Partner and Aristea Friedrich and Amy La Verde were promoted to Senior Associate in January.
