Office Services Assistant, 2012 | Paralegal, 2013 | Graduate, 2014 | Solicitor 2015

Marcus CarboneI joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2012 whilst I was studying and I immediately felt at ease - everyone is friendly and approachable, regardless of their level.

The partners and senior solicitors are always willing to offer advice and assist with core development. This assistance means that I, as a solicitor, feel comfortable with asking questions and feel heavily involved with the matters I am assisting on. It also assists with a speedier development of core legal skills.

Over the past six years the practice has invested heavily in my development and happiness. I’ve played rugby union for 20 years and it’s an important part of my life, but so is my career. Colin Biggers & Paisley have always been supportive of this and I think that’s because of our great culture and focus on wellbeing.

I have a demanding training schedule for rugby which includes morning, lunchtime and evening sessions throughout the week. The practice has always been very accommodating in ensuring I have the flexibility to work the hours that I need to keep doing what I love. This entails getting in early, working in the evening, and from home. I also went on an eight month sabbatical to play professional rugby union in Italy in September 2016.

Playing rugby assists greatly with my quality of life and happiness and I know that I can continue to play and progress in my legal career at Colin Biggers & Paisley.
