John McGirr

John McGirr is a senior associate in the insurance team. 

John is an experienced litigator with broad experience in general commercial litigation, and has a particular interest in solicitor negligence and medical negligence litigation. John works closely with his clients, developing a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of a matter in the early stages to advise his clients on liability, quantum and strategy as soon as possible.

He has excellent skills in drafting pleadings, affidavits and other court documents. Not only does John run matters in all Victorian courts (including the Coroners Court), he regularly appears as counsel in contested applications.

John acts for a broad range of clients, including solicitors, counsellors, directors, individuals, business owners, financial institutions, insurers, and owners' corporations.

John was admitted to practice in 2012. He joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2018.
