Patrick joined Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team in 2016 and became a partner in 2023. 

Patrick brings a unique perspective to the defence of insurance claims. He understands how to view a claim from both sides and in doing so work towards a speedy and cost-effective resolution to claims.

Patrick has expertise in professional indemnity, general liability, casualty claims and regularly advises insurers on professional indemnity and general liability policies. He also acts for life insurers advising on policy coverage, and defending claims made under group policies issued to superannuation funds.

Patrick has experience acting for insurers of a broad range of professionals as both coverage and defence counsel. He acts for allied health practitioners, engineers, insurance and mortgage brokers and accountants defending both claims for damages as well as investigations or disciplinary proceedings by the applicable regulatory agencies.

Patrick also acts for insurers on a number of first and third party cyber-crime and employee fraud claims (including recovery proceedings).

Patrick acts for both local and international insurers, including Lloyd's syndicates.

In the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia, Patrick is listed for his expertise in Personal Injury Litigation. In 2023, Patrick was listed inThe Best Lawyers in Australia in the inaugural Ones to Watch category for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Insurance Law, Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation and Professional Malpractice Litigation.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Patrick was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2014 and the High Court of Australia in 2016.
