Five new partners at Colin Biggers & Paisley

30 December 2012
Sydney and Melbourne firm Colin Biggers & Paisley continues its expansion with the appointment of five new partners. Three of these are internal promotions within the insurance team. Sydney-based Melissa Fenton and Kemsley Brennan and Melbourne-based Patrick Tuohey were promoted to the partners on 1 January 2013.

Also joining the partners in the new year as lateral hires are insurance lawyer Jonathan Newby, from McCabes, and construction lawyer Jonathan Stafford, from Clayton Utz.

Managing partner Dunstan de Souza noted that the new partner appointments were in keeping with firm's overall plan of being the best in its specialist areas of practice.

"We are delighted that Melissa, Patrick and Kemsley have been promoted to partners and that Jonathan Newby and Jonathan Stafford have decided to join our firm," he said. "It's vital for us to attract and recognise talented lawyers so that we can continue to be a top tier firm in our chosen areas, including insurance and construction.

"The recent law firm surveys have shown that ours is the fastest-growing legal practice in Australia and the new partner appointments are continuing that growth. I am sure that these talented lawyers will make a huge contribution in their new roles and we welcome them warmly to the firm."
