Gary Newton to speak at conference in Cambodia in October 2015

Gary Newton will join with Julian Burnside AO QC as one of several speakers at a conference in Cambodia to be held at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort in Siem Reap at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Gary is one of the selected members of the Australian and Cambodia legal profession including judiciary, senior barristers and leading lawyers to speak at this conference.
Gary will speak on property law, with a national focus on interesting real property law cases from every state and territory of Australia from his new book, the 2015 edition of Real Property Law Case Summaries published by LexisNexis Butterworths. This is the fourth edition of the book which provides a concise summary of key cases in the Australian real property law. It is a number one best seller with students and libraries. It is also a useful resource for a short summary of each of the major cases on real property law in Australia.
Gary is the Chairman of the Australian Property Law Group of the Law Council of Australia. Gary will discuss initiatives such as the Uniform Torrens Title Act and some recent initiatives at a Commonwealth level on land laws. Gary will also talk about recent developments on real property law at a national level.
Gary will also be part of a select panel which will be chaired by Julian Burnside AO QC, discussing the ethical issues of being a legal practitioner.
