Colin Biggers & Paisley announces new insurance partner

23 August 2016
Colin Biggers & Paisley has announced the appointment of David Giacomantonio as a partner in their growing insurance team.

With over 20 years’ experience specialising in all facets of insurance litigation, David’s focus is on general liability, casualty, sports liability, property and professional indemnity.

Head of Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team, Patrick Monahan, said that David's experience will match the existing skillset of the team and continue to strengthen the legal practice's insurance offering in the Brisbane market. "David is one of Brisbane's leading insurance lawyers and we are delighted that he is joining our legal practice."

Having previously established the Brisbane office of another national insurance law firm, David said the time was right to move to Colin Biggers & Paisley. “Since David Kerwin successfully moved to Brisbane, I have observed the insurance practice of Colin Biggers & Paisley become an incredibly strong force in the market while maintaining its friendly culture. Fortunately for me, Colin Biggers & Paisley felt I could make a contribution toward their continued growth and positive environment.”

Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team is one of the largest insurance law practices in Australia, acting for the majority of the major insurance companies nationally and the London market.

The appointment comes just days after Colin Biggers & Paisley announced the recent rapid growth in their Brisbane office.

David is the ninth lateral hire in the legal practice in the past 12 months.

Colin Biggers & Paisley has also recently appointed Catherine Bell in its construction team, Stephen Thompson and Richard Arrage in its transport and logistics team and Rebecca Castley in its property and development team.
