30 August 2016
Colin Biggers & Paisley has announced the appointment of Todd Neal as a partner in their planning and environment team.

Todd has over 15 years’ experience, specialising in planning, local government and environmental law and advises both public and private sector clients as well as state owned corporations. His experience extends to the planning and environment issues associated with major projects, the masterplanning and upzoning of greenfield and in fill development sites, Voluntary Planning Agreements, approval and enforcement/compliance issues, and land access issues for development, including native title and Aboriginal land rights. He also has experience in resumption, compensation and valuation matters.

Colin Biggers & Paisley's managing partner, Dunstan de Souza, said that Todd's addition to the team was a strategic move for the legal practice. "Todd is an exceptional planning and environment lawyer and has a reputation as a leading advisor to both government and private clients.

"It's an exciting time for our legal practice as it continues to grow at such a rapid pace. It's gratifying that we are continuing to attract such fantastic caliber of lawyers such as Todd to Colin Biggers & Paisley."

Explaining why he chose the legal practice, Todd said "Colin Biggers & Paisley is a ‘blue chip’ building, construction and property firm and is a neat fit for me. The firm attracts a variety of interesting work in the areas I practice, has a strong reputation in servicing clients across the development lifecycle and is growing in the right places. I’m looking forward to complementing the firm’s property and construction practices and delivering value to clients.”

The legal practice also recently hired planning and environment senior associate, Emma Whitney, who has over 14 years of legal experience.

Todd is the tenth lateral partner hire in the legal practice in the past 12 months.

Colin Biggers & Paisley has also recently appointed David Giacomantonio in its insurance team, Catherine Bell in its construction team, Stephen Thompson and Richard Arrage in its transport and logistics team and Rebecca Castley in its property and development team.
