Colin Biggers & Paisley announces appointment of property partner

Colin Biggers & Paisley has announced the appointment of partner, Duane Keighran, who has joined the legal practice's growing property team.

Duane will lead Colin Biggers & Paisley's national hotels, tourism and hospitality group, as well as their Middle East and Korean practices.

In addition to working nationally, Duane will expand the firm's existing Middle East practice through continuing to work closely with clients based in the Middle East, and with Australian clients seeking to enter that market. Colin Biggers & Paisley has been present in the legal market in the UAE for a number of years through their close association with Dubai and Abu Dhabi based firm, Lutfi & Co.

Chris Rumore, head of Colin Biggers & Paisley's property group, said that Duane's addition to the team was a strategic one and that he will be focused on building the practice's growing presence in the hotels and tourism market, while also strengthening the group's already strong property investment and development practice. "Duane is an exceptional lawyer in the hotels and tourism space and has a leading reputation in the Middle East, which is fast translating to the local market. We are excited to have Duane join us to further build our focus on the hospitality and tourism markets nationally, and to give us further depth in our traditional practice areas of property development and investment."

Explaining why he chose the legal practice, Duane said "The opportunity to join a leading national firm with an exceptional reputation in the property and construction industries was simply too good an opportunity to pass on. I am excited to be able to contribute to the further development of the already strong property practice, and to be given the opportunity to lead the hotels, tourism and hospitality group. The firm's strong association with Lutfi & Co in the UAE is an added bonus which allows me to also preserve the close relationships I have developed with key clients over several years of practice in the Middle East.”

This is Colin Biggers & Paisley's latest senior appointment in its growing firm and follows the appointment of Louise Edmonds in the insurance team and Todd Neal and Emma Whitney in the planning and environment team.
