Colin Biggers & Paisley announces one of their largest ever round of promotions

Leading legal practice Colin Biggers & Paisley have announced one of their largest ever round of promotions, with eight lawyers being promoted to senior positions.
Effective 1 July, Ana Kolovos and Tim Seton have been promoted to Partner.
Ana Kolovos is based in the legal practice's Melbourne office and works in the insurance team. Her main practice areas include insurance litigation, personal injury and product and public liability across all jurisdictions including the High Court. Ana joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2014.
Tim Seton joined Colin Biggers & Paisley's Sydney office in 2007. His main areas of expertise are in back end construction, intellectual property disputes, technology disputes, ACL proceedings and commercial litigation generally. Tim has qualifications and experience in the technology space and he is one of a limited number of lawyers who can write code. Tim is heavily involved in the legal practice's mentoring program, currently mentoring six younger lawyers at Colin Biggers & Paisley.
Claire Day, Laura Reisz and Marcus Saw have all been promoted to Special Counsel.
Claire Day joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in January 2008. She has almost 10 years' experience in the property and development industry and her practice is focused around property development, acquisitions and disposals (commercial, residential and industrial developments) and also commercial leasing.
Laura joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2014 in the Sydney insurance team. Laura's work predominantly focusses on directors' and officers' insurance, life and professional indemnity insurance.
Marcus Saw joined Colin Biggers & Paisley's Melbourne office in 2014. He practises in the insurance law field and he has particular expertise in the niche areas of trade, transport and aviation law. Recently he has had significant involvement with construction, professional indemnity, employment liability and financial lines insurance issues.
Suzie Hutchings, Karen Lo and Stuart McKenzie have been promoted to Senior Associate.
Suzie Hutchings and Karen Lo are both in Colin Biggers & Paisley's Sydney construction and engineering team, having joined the legal practice in 2013 and 2011 respectively.
Suzie primarily works on construction dispute resolution and other forms of alternative dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert determination. Karen primarily works in construction dispute resolution, advising principals, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and individuals in resolving matters by way of litigation, mediation, facilitation, expert determination and arbitration. Both Suzie and Karen also have extensive experience in all areas related to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.
Stuart McKenzie joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2016 as a solicitor in the restructuring and insolvency team. His work predominantly focusses on advising liquidators, administrators and company directors in relation to a wide variety of insolvency and restructuring issues including the proper conduct of liquidations and administrations, litigated matters such as insolvent transaction and preference claims, disputes with creditors and dealing with creditors statutory demands.
The announcement comes after the firm appointed seven lateral partner hires over the past 12 months.
