13 September 2017
Colin Biggers & Paisley is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Lurie as a special counsel in their insurance group in Sydney.

Steven has over 17 years' experience working as a lawyer in commercial litigation, professional indemnity, construction, liability insurance and financial lines. Steven's experience includes acting for D&O insurers in the long running litigation arising out of the collapse of New
Cap Reinsurance, for geotechnical engineers in respect of the Lane Cove Tunnel collapse, and over 10 years' experience acting for and against legal practitioners, including on behalf of LawCover and Law Mutual. Steven has acted for insurers as both defence and coverage counsel and in recovery proceedings, including international arbitration proceedings.

Head of Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance group, Andrew Tulloch is delighted to welcome Steven to the practice.

"We are recognised as one of Australia's leading insurance law practices and our insurance group continues to grow rapidly. Steven will be a great asset to our team. His experience and knowledge will further support and strengthen our capabilities."

Steven said he is excited to be joining one of Australia's largest and growing insurance law practices.

"Colin Biggers & Paisley has a vibrant and dynamic insurance team. Led by insurance law experts, it is a young and talented team, that I am very excited to now be a part of and look forward to contributing to the team's growth and industry ties."

This follows a number of recent hires for the legal practice in all its offices. Stuart Unwin was promoted to Special Counsel in the Brisbane insurance team in August.
