Colin Biggers & Paisley announces new year promotions

Australia's fasted growing legal practice Colin Biggers & Paisley have announced their latest round of promotions, with three lawyers appointed to senior positions.  

Effective 1 January, Julian Mellick has been promoted to partner, and both Aristea Friedrich and Amy La Verde have been promoted to senior associate. 

Julian Mellick is based in the legal practice's Sydney office and works in the construction and engineering team. He has more than 13 years' experience finding legal solutions to assist his clients achieve their goals. His practice encompasses both international (Asia Pacific) and domestic projects, disputes, compliance and best practice. 

Aristea joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2015 and is in the Sydney insurance team. Aristea's expertise is in professional indemnity and general liability, working on a broad range of claims with a focus on complex claims that regularly involve multiple defendant liability disputes, coverage disputes including policy interpretation, dual insurance and recoveries. In 2016, Aristea was named as "Young Gun of the Year" finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law awards. 

Amy La Verde is in the employment and safety team in the practice's Melbourne office. Amy  advises employers on a range of matters including compliance with workplace legislation and privacy obligations, employment contracts and workplace policies and manuals. She also has extensive experience in the litigation and dispute management of employment and safety matters. Amy joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2014. 

This announcement comes a month after the practice was named Australia's fastest growing law firm in The Australian's end-of-year partnership survey.
