Leading national law practice Colin Biggers & Paisley has welcomed new special counsel Dimity Leahy to its employment and safety team and Hannah Griffiths to their restructuring and insolvency team.

Dimity's appointment will further strengthen the position of the team, recognised in the Legal 500 for its ‘speedy, knowledgeable and commercial’ practice and for the handling of a wide range of employment work, including transactional matters, employee restraint and compensation as well as workplace investigations.

She is an experienced litigator, appearing before the Federal Circuit Court, the Federal Court, state courts and tribunals, industrial relations commissions, and for a range of mediated and arbitrated matters in the Fair Work Commission.

Dimity said that she is very much looking forward to joining Colin Biggers & Paisley.

"I value being able to contribute to a collaborative team environment and so it is exciting to be part of a team that is expanding nationally," she said.

Managing Partner Nick Crennan said that Dimity's appointment will continue to add to the practice's expertise in the employment and safety space,

"We have grown our employment and safety practice substantially since 2013, most recently with partner Sara McRostie. We started out with just one lawyer and now we have a team of 18 across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane."

Hannah Griffiths who joins the Sydney restructuring and insolvency team, has considerable experience in commercial litigation and insolvency related matters and has acted on behalf of building and construction companies, professional indemnity insurers, insolvency practitioners and corporate and individual lenders.

Hannah's main areas of focus include, insolvency and commercial litigation, corporate restructuring, dispute resolution and advocacy.

Explaining why she chose to move to Colin Biggers & Paisley, Hannah said,

"I am delighted to join a high performing disputes and insolvency practice and view the move to Colin Biggers & Paisley as a great opportunity to work with a highly regarded east-coast dispute resolution team within a growing and thriving practice."
