Colin Biggers & Paisley welcomes two new lawyers to its insurance team

Colin Biggers & Paisley is pleased to announce that Susannah Maclaren has re-joined the practice as special counsel in its Sydney insurance team and that Lauren Piscioneri has joined the Melbourne insurance team as senior associate.

Susannah brings more than 17 years' experience as an insurance and commercial lawyer with particular expertise in complex disputes, financial services regulation and remediation. She has advised insurers and financial service providers across a broad range of issues, including dispute resolution, remediation and compliance. Susannah has represented domestic and foreign insurers in relation to coverage disputes and also acts on behalf of corporations, professional advisers and directors.

Lauren's practice focuses on employment practices liability, occupational health and safety and managing ill and injured workers. She also has extensive experience reviewing financial lines insurance policies (including public liability, EPL and management liability), negotiating settlements, advising on indemnity claims and liaising with insurers, insureds and brokers. Lauren regularly advises government, insurers and corporate clients in relation to issues arising with human capital.

Managing Partner Nick Crennan said that the practice's recent growth, particularly in its insurance practice had been achieved by offering its clients quality legal services and specialist knowledge.

"We're not focused on growth for growth's sake. We have a strong reputation as a leader in our areas of expertise and we're growing along the eastern seaboard where our clients are."

These appointments follow the recent appointment of Michelle Morgan as special counsel in its Sydney insurance team, as well as a number of promotions within the insurance practice since the start of the year, including Toby Blyth and Debbie Kaminskas who were promoted to partner, Danielle Skinner to special counsel and Lachlan Boughton, Landis Michaels and Julian Peake promoted to senior associate.
