Deanne Methven is a special counsel in the property and development team and has over 25 years' experience in national property transactions, disputes and delivery of advice. Her main area of focus is drafting, negotiating and advising on retail, commercial and industrial leases and legislation.
Having held a real estate licence prior to becoming a lawyer, Deanne draws on her substantial skills and commercial acumen in negotiating and drafting to obtain commercial and satisfying outcomes for her clients. Her experience includes advising on and representing retail landlords, in dispute resolution, advice on operational management of retail and commercial assets, attending mediations and Tribunals, drafting leases, licences and auxiliary documents.
Deanne has significant experience working with institutional landlords, not for profit and private clients across a number of sectors, including retail and commercial leasing, acquisitions and disposals, including GPT, Lendlease, airports and the Catholic Church.
Deanne was admitted to practice in New South Wales in 2006.
Deanne loves architectural design, renovating houses, good food and wine. She has a passion to travel the world, skiing, riding and being active.
