Duane Keighran is Deputy Head of the national Property and Development team, Head of the cross-practice dedicated Hotels, Tourism and Hospitality practice group, as well as the leader of the Middle East and Korean practices.

Duane's expertise includes property development, management and investment; hotel and serviced apartment management, franchising and refurbishment; strata and community title structuring; high value leasing and joint venture arrangements.

Duane's experience has led him to advise on numerous iconic mixed-use developments and large-scale transactions throughout Australia, as well as in regions such as the Middle East, North and East Africa and Eastern Europe. He is consistently ranked in legal directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers Global, where he is noted as being "widely regarded as a go-to practitioner for hospitality matters" and "well respected for his work with clients in the hospitality sector."

In 2018 Duane was recognised for his expertise in Real Estate (Expertise Based Abroad) - United Arab Emirates, by Chambers and Partners Global. 

In 2020, Who's Who Legal recognised Duane as a leading individual for his expertise in Hospitality in Australia.

In 2021, Duane was listed in The Best Lawyers in Australia  for Real Property Law.

In recent times, Duane has negotiated hotel deals involving international hotel operators across a range of their brands, including Starwood, Hilton, Rezidor, Marriott, Accor, Movenpick, Versace and Banyan Tree (which include new build hotels, re-flagging and refurbishment, mixed use, and sales or acquisitions).

He acts for a wide variety of clients, including developers, hotel operators, investors, fund managers, landlords and tenants.

Duane is admitted to practice in New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in addition to his Bachelor of Laws degree.
