Emily Brownlee is a senior associate in the Property Disputes and Advisory team. She also work within the firm's financial lines and class action insurance teams.
Emily's practice focuses mainly on property and leasing based disputes; working with her clients to provide commercially-minded, timely and pragmatic advice to complex litigation. As a commercial litigator, Emily has acted across all state jurisdictions and tribunals, as well as in the Federal Court, and is experienced in alternative dispute resolution processes.
Emily is well versed in advocating for clients' interests and has experience acting for a variety of clients, including large-scale developers and property investors, government bodies, contractors, owners corporations, building management committees, creditors, leaseholders, religious organisations, and purchasers. Emily supports her team's partnership with the Australian Institute of Conveyancers.
Emily also has experience in general commercial disputes with a focus on subrogated recoveries, partnership disputes, debt claims, contract enforcement, and planning law. Emily also works within the insurance team, within the financial lines and class action spaces. She is experienced in acting as defence, coverage and monitoring counsel for a variety of clients, including domestic and international insurers, underwriters and Lloyd's syndicates, major Australian banks and other financial institutions, local governments, infrastructure contractors, solicitors, and international construction companies.
Emily is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the High Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
