Emily Brownlee is a senior associate in the commercial dispute resolution and insurance teams.
Emily works with clients to provide commercially-minded, timely and pragmatic advice to complex litigated disputes. Emily's practice focuses mainly on property and leasing based disputes. As a commercial litigator, Emily has acted across all State jurisdictions and tribunals, as well as in the Federal Court.
Emily is well versed in advocating for client's rights and has experience acting for a variety of clients, including large-scale developers and property investors, government bodies, contractors, and Mum-and-Dad purchasers.
Emily's involvement in the commercial disputes space focuses on general commercial litigation, partnership disputes, strata disputes, contract enforcement, and planning law.
Emily also works within the firm's insurance practice, predominately in the financial lines and class action spaces, for insurers both domestic and international, and in highly publicised matters.
Emily has experience acting as defence, coverage and monitoring counsel for a variety of clients, including insurers and underwriters, major Australian banks, local governments, infrastructure contractors, small business owners, financial institutions, solicitors, and international construction companies.
Emily was admitted in February 2016, and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the High Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
