James Nicolson is a senior associate in the Planning Government Infrastructure and Environment group based in the Brisbane office of Colin Biggers & Paisley.
James has a broad range of experience providing advice and representation to both private and government entities in relation to the statutory planning framework and the development assessment and approval process. James assists clients by providing strategic advice on the formulation and assessment of development applications in order to maximise the prospect of obtaining, defending or challenging development approvals. James also assists clients with the resolution of disputes arising from development conditions, infrastructure charges, compliance and enforcement in relation to the development assessment and approval process.
Where legal proceedings are necessary, James is experienced at project managing specialist teams comprising legal counsel and expert witnesses in proceedings before the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
James holds bachelor's degrees in both Environmental Science and Laws and Legal Practice and joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2014.
