Louise Edmonds is a special counsel in the insurance team.   

Louise partners with clients to achieve focused, practical, effective outcomes. Louise's practice focuses on insurance, particularly professional indemnity, directors' and officers' liability, IT and cyber liability and major construction project risk in Australia and internationally.  
Louise is experienced in large scale construction and engineering matters - conducting claims and litigation, providing policy advice, running subrogated recoveries. In addition, Louise has significant experience in advising and handling directors and officers claims. She has acted for a variety of clients, including construction professionals, banks, directors & officers, municipalities, solicitors, real estate agents and water authorities.
Louise has spent a number of years as a senior claims specialist at an international underwriter, with independent conduct of matters across the globe. Her clients included major mining, construction and real estate clients, top-tier banking and financial institutions and licensees, valuers, liquidators and administrators. In addition, she has managed shareholder class actions involving complex indemnity, liability and quantum issues. With her experience in the industry, Louise has a solid understanding of insurer and insured’s needs and provides timely and pragmatic advice.

In the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia, Louise was recognised as a leading Insurance Lawyer.
Louise is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria, the High Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand. Louise joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2016.
