Mary is a special counsel in Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance practice.
Mary has diverse experience in simple and complex public liability and property damage claims, including multi-party disputes across all NSW courts.
Mary has experience defending construction companies, occupiers, owners' corporations, cleaning companies, schools, property owners and large corporate chains in claims against them pursuant to the
Civil Liability Act 2002
(NSW), defending barristers in professional negligence claims, and defending insurers in proceedings commenced pursuant to the
Civil Liability (Third Party Claims Against Insurers) Act 2017
(NSW).
Her experience also includes advising insurers and defending catastrophic injury claims, recovery claims by insurers against third parties, advising on policy construction and interpretation, and acting for life insurance companies on policy claims by insureds for various life insurance products.
Outside of life at Colin Biggers & Paisley, Mary tries to keep on top of developments in the courts that affect her practice, as well as on social issues that are likely to affect her clients.
Mary is on the committee for the Property & Liability Discussion Group and often networks through the NSW Claims Discussion Group, AILA and Young Insurance Professionals.
Mary holds a Master of Laws, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She was admitted to practice in 2010 and joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2019.
