Nicole has particular experience advising her clients on how to manage the legal response to high profile matters in the transport industry including investigations, environmental clean-ups, statutory responsibilities, liability and dispute resolution.
She has significant experience with maritime law issues including contractual responsibilities, legal liabilities and litigation and drafting and advising on complex contractual documents.
In addition to her expertise in transport law, Nicole also has extensive experience in government administrative law. Nicole has worked with Commonwealth and Queensland government departments and agencies to:
- conduct merits and judicial review proceedings in the Federal and Queensland jurisdictions often appearing as solicitor advocate;
- advise on statutory interpretation and government decision-making; and
- advise on the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information under the Information Privacy Act 2009 and the Privacy Act 1988.
Nicole is currently on the Board of Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA), as national secretary and has been a member of the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ) since 2015.
Nicole was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2010. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in addition to a Bachelor of International Business.
Nicole joined the practice in 2019.
