Richard Arrage is a special counsel in the transport and logistics team, maintaining a comprehensive practice covering transactional, contentious, contractual and regulatory issues.
His practice focus is on carriage of goods by sea, ship arrest and admiralty, marine insurance, ship sale, purchase and charter, offshore support, land-side logistics, corporate acquisitions and disposals, commercial litigation, and competition and restrictive trade practices.
His experience includes providing full commercial legal service and risk management advice to shipping industry participants in respect of their Australian and international transactions, acquisitions and disposals. He acts and advises on litigated and mediated cargo claims and marine insurance claims.
His clients include Australian and international shipping and cruise lines and their agents, towage providers, logistics companies, port operators, offshore operators, freight forwarders and marine insurers.
Richard is recognised as up and coming in the Australian shipping industry in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions of Chambers and Partners, and as a rising star in the Australian transport industry in the 2017 Doyle's Guide.
In addition to his Law degree, Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Richard joined the legal practice in 2016.
