Stuart McKenzie is a special counsel in the corporate and dispute resolution group. Stuart has a broad range of experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and debt recovery. Stuart's primary practice involves acting for and advising insolvency practitioners in relation to disputes under the
Corporations Act
,
Bankruptcy Act
and
Personal Property and Securities Act
. Stuart also advises insolvency practitioners and company directors on corporate restructures including entry into deeds of company arrangement and other schemes of arrangement.
Stuart also has experience acting for large national banks in the enforcement of securities, recovery of unsecured loans and resolving disputes between corporate borrowers and financiers.
Stuart has extensive experience appearing in all civil jurisdictions in New South Wales. Stuart has strong advocacy skills and regularly appears in court for the hearing of contested applications without the assistance of counsel.
Stuart was admitted as a solicitor in 2010 and joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2016.
Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Professional and Business Ethics in addition to his law degree and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales together with the Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
