A member of the insurance team since 2014 and a special counsel since 2024, Lachlan's core areas of practice are professional indemnity, marine and transport, commercial litigation and general liability claims.

Lachlan has significant experience in professional negligence, general liability and property damage claims, fraud, recoveries, large-scale commercial litigation and shareholder class actions, acting for clients across the legal, building and construction, real estate, financial services, and motor and transport industries.

Lachlan advises on liability, indemnity, policy, strategy and management over the full life of the claim. This includes pre-litigation negotiations, drafting complex pleadings, managing interlocutory steps, preparing evidence and undertaking recoveries, and the enforcement of judgment debts.

Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University. Lachlan was admitted to practice as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2015. He is also admitted to practice in the Federal Court and High Court of Australia.

Lachlan was listed as a Rising Star in the Doyle's Guide 2022, 2023 and 2024 transport rankings. He is also a Board member of Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ) and secretary of the Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum Inc.

Outside of work, Lachlan enjoys playing and following various sports, usually football (both soccer and Australian rules) and cricket.
