PARALEGAL, 2019 | GRADUATE, 2022

I studied a Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University. I joined Colin Biggers & Paisley as a paralegal in 2019 and joined the Graduate Program in 2022. My rotations for the graduate program are the restructuring and banking team, Planning and Environment and Insurance class actions.

What I enjoy the most at Colin Biggers & Paisley is the sense of community here at the firm. I have made great friendships at the firm which has made for a positive environment. Throughout the graduate program I have been challenged with tough tasks but I have always felt supported by the partners and work colleagues.

Shortly after joining the Graduate Program I had the opportunity to join the Sydney office social committee which was a great way to meet more people around the office, and I have been involved in organising a number of social events around the office including the City2Surf. There are many opportunities to get involved at Colin Biggers & Paisley socially outside of just work.

I have found that Colin Biggers & Paisley is very accommodating of each individual person's life outside of work and the different demands they have in their personal life, regardless of their role. I have always felt that I am able to balance my life outside of work, such as going to the gym or catching up with friends for dinner. Colin Biggers & Paisley has a culture that respects that all employees need to balance life outside of work and does not expect excessive hours or burden employees with workloads that are unmanageable.

I have had plenty of opportunities to be involved in the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation initiatives. I volunteered for the Refugee Legal Afghanistan Clinic to assist individuals with visa applications to Australia. This was an incredible opportunity to be a part of important work supporting people in the community needing assistance.
