Alex has been a member of Colin Biggers & Paisley's corporate and commercial team since 2008 and became a partner in 2015. He has expertise in commercial, intellectual property and technology law.
 
Alex advises on general commercial including corporate matters, such as share and business sales and purchases, agreements between shareholders and unitholders, trading structures and restructures, stamp and transfer duty issues, valuation and land tax disputes, trading terms, supply and procurement, and competition and consumer law issues.
 
In the area of technology and information, he regularly advises on technology procurement and disputes as well as privacy and data protection issues.
 
Alex also advises on all aspects of regulatory transactions including, inbound investments, foreign investment approvals, financial services regulation, banking and finance, and personal property securities law issues.
 
Alex's work in intellectual property is informed by his Master of Laws and post graduate qualifications in trade mark law and practice. He is also a registered trade marks attorney. He regularly advises on trade mark, copyright, registered design, confidential information and border protection issues. He also acts in trade mark opposition and non-use proceedings before the Australian Trade Marks Office (IP Australia).

Alex was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1999.

He sits on the Law Firm Committee of the International Trademark Association and is Co-Chair of the ADVOC IP & Technology Practice Group.
