Brad Kermond leads the construction and engineering team. Brad joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 1983 and has been a partner since 1989. Brad provides expert advice on all facets of claims and disputes and in the drafting and negotiation of contracts for the construction and engineering industries. He has extensive experience in all forms of dispute resolution, including court proceedings, arbitration, mediation and expert determination procedures.

Brad has successfully advised contractors, principals, sub-contractors, consultants and financiers involved in commercial and residential property developments, heavy engineering and civil engineering projects, marine engineering projects and software engineering projects.

Brad's expertise in construction and infrastructure law has been acknowledged in a number of renowned legal directories. Brad was listed in Doyle's Guide in 2014 as a recommended construction lawyer in New South Wales, and in 2015 as a leading construction lawyer. In 2016 and 2020, Brad was named in Doyle's Guide as a recommended construction and infrastructure lawyer. In 2018, he was listed as a recommended construction and front-end construction, and infrastructure lawyer. 

Brad was listed as a recommended lawyer in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of Legal 500 Asia Pacific in the area of construction law. He first appeared in the 2016 edition of Best Lawyers in Australia in the area of alternative dispute resolution. Brad has been listed as a leading construction and infrastructure lawyer in every edition of Best Lawyers since 2017, and in the 2021 edition, Brad was also listed for his expertise in litigation.

Since 2016, Brad has been listed as a leading construction lawyer in Chambers and Partners.

Brad has lectured at conferences for the construction industry and regularly conducts in-house lectures for clients of the legal practice on matters of interest to their business. He is a member of several construction industry associations.
