Brad Kermond leads the construction and engineering team. Brad joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 1983 and has been a partner since 1989. Brad provides expert advice on all facets of claims and disputes and in the drafting and negotiation of contracts for the construction and engineering industries. He has extensive experience in all forms of dispute resolution, including court proceedings, arbitration, mediation and expert determination procedures.
Brad has successfully advised contractors, principals, sub-contractors, consultants and financiers involved in commercial and residential property developments, heavy engineering and civil engineering projects, marine engineering projects and software engineering projects.
Brad was listed as a recommended lawyer in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of Legal 500 Asia Pacific in the area of construction law. Doyle's Guide listed Brad as a recommended construction lawyer NSW in 2014 and as a leading construction lawyer NSW in 2015. In 2016 and 2018 Doyle's Guide named him as a recommended construction and infrastructure lawyer in NSW, he was also named as a recommended front-end construction and infrastructure lawyer in NSW in Doyle's Guide 2018. Brad was listed as a leading construction lawyer in Chambers and Partners in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and he was also listed in the 2016 edition of Best Lawyers in Australia in the area of alternative dispute resolution. In its 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions, Best Lawyers in Australia listed Brad for construction and infrastructure law.
Brad has lectured at conferences for the construction industry and regularly conducts in-house lectures for clients of the legal practice on matters of interest to their business. He is a member of several construction industry associations.
