A senior practitioner in the Property & Development team, Christopher has a breadth of experience in property transactions and advice with expertise in government property, retirement villages and infrastructure.


Overview

Christopher has over 30 years' experience in all aspects of property law including sales and acquisitions, leases and agreements for lease, project development agreements, subdivisions and options. 

As an accredited specialist in property law, Christopher has assisted in a number of complex and significant matters including planning agreements, compulsory acquisitions, leasehold transactions, stratum subdivisions, contaminated land, native title, community title developments and public positive covenants. His clients include local councils, government departments and authorities, aged care providers, urban and regional developers and corporations. 

Christopher’s practice has a particular focus on: 

  • development projects for government authorities; 

  • retirement village and aged care developments, documentation and advice; 

  • compulsory acquisitions for local councils and developers; 

  • property development and subdivision; and 

  • infrastructure projects including marinas, regional airports, pipelines and wind farms. 

Christopher regularly provides seminars such as "Easements; Fundamentals and Recent Cases" AIC 16 August 2025; "Managing Options in Conveyancing Practice" Legalwise June 2026 and "Property Marketing" UDIA Property Law Conference April 2025. He is the author of the "Options" section of Practical Guidance by LexisNexis and co-edited the 7th Edition of Land Acquisitions. 

Christopher was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1988. He holds a Bachelor of Arts / Law from the University of Sydney. He has been an accredited specialist in Property Law since 1995.
