Over a career of some decades, Greg has practiced in all areas of insurance, and is sought after for his expertise across coverage, reinsurance, policy wordings, class actions and complex litigation.

Greg is recognised as a Senior Statesperson in Chambers & Partners Insurance section.

Greg began his professional career as a construction lawyer and following a move into insurance he cultivated a reputation and practice across a wide range of lines of business, including construction risk, professional indemnity, D&O liability, accident and health, products, property and reinsurance. He is extremely experienced in all forms of commercial negotiation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Greg has unrivalled experience acting as coverage and defence counsel on claims arising under every type of construction policy and is sought after by insurers and insureds for his advice. He has assisted to drafting, amending or preparing endorsements to a number of construction and project specific PI wordings or annual PI wordings. Greg regularly advises insurers on policy response and either coordinated defence of claims or conducted the defence direct.

Greg has handled construction claims in the US, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Middle East, China and across Australia. He is experienced in all forms of commercial negotiation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and has represented insurers to pursue subrogated recovery claims.

Greg's expertise extends to helping clients navigate all aspects of commercial negotiation, risk management, corporate governance, board director advisory and due diligence. He has held advisory positions to a number of private companies including an engineering company with offices in Australia and the Middle East, a construction company and a large community care company retaining some 1,200 people.

Greg's standing in the insurance and legal industries has been recognised across a number of publications. In addition to his ranking in Chambers & Partners, he was named 2024 Insurance Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyers in Australia and has been listed in this publication in the areas of litigation, insurance law, class action litigation, construction/infrastructure law and professional malpractice litigation. He has also been named by Doyles Guide as a leading professional indemnity lawyer in Sydney, and Who's Who Legal and ExpertGuides for Insurance and Reinsurance.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and was admitted to practice in 1976.
