Matthew Castley is a partner in the property team and has over 20 years' experience in commercial property law. His focus is on commercial property and projects, leasing, government advisory, insolvency and land tax appeal work.
Matthew has substantial expertise in all manner of real property related work, including commercial acquisitions and disposals, due diligence, property development and corporate advisory.
Matthew has acted for Federal and State Government departments, statutory bodies, property developers, institutional property owners and high net wealth private clients with significant exposure to major transactions interstate and overseas.
He has significant experience in commercial and industrial property acquisition, leasing and development and has been a member of the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia’s Industrial Property Committee. He frequently speaks at internal and external industry-focused presentations.
Matthew was named in Doyle's Guide 2016 as a recommended property and real estate lawyer in Brisbane. In 2020-2022, Matthew was recognised by Best Lawyers in Australia for Real Property Law. In 2021-2022, Best Lawyers also recognised Matthew's expertise in Leasing.
Matthew is admitted to practice in Queensland and joined the legal practice as a partner in 2015.
