Michael is a partner in the disputes and investigations team at Colin Biggers & Paisley. He is an experienced litigator who advises ASX-listed companies, companies in liquidation and insurers on large scale litigation including class actions.
Michael provides advice to a broad range of clients, including corporations, financial institutions, directors, executives, professionals and insurers.
He has extensive experience acting and advising in relation to complex matters involving corporate collapses, class actions, financial services, transport, technology and professional services.
Michael leads the disputes and investigations practice at Colin Biggers & Paisley. He has acted in various capacities on some of Australia's largest commercial and class action litigation. Michael has particular expertise working with companies in distress or liquidation, which rely heavily on the participation of insurers to co-ordinate a defence and resolution. He has acted in group proceedings, multi-plaintiff claims and representative actions for over a decade, including more recently in the first major funded employment class action in Australia.
In 2020, The Legal 500 recognised the practice's expertise in Dispute Resolution: Class actions and Best Lawyers recognised Michael's expertise in Litigation.
Michael has degrees in Commerce (International Business) and Law.
Admitted in the Supreme Court of NSW, as well as the Federal Court and High Court, Michael has been involved in litigation across all levels of first instance and appellate jurisdictions, including a number of appeals to the High Court.
