Colin Biggers & Paisley is pleased to announce the promotion of 3 lawyers to senior positions,  continuing the practice's commitment to supporting its talent and providing opportunities for growth within the practice. 

Effective 1 January 2024, Laura Reisz will be promoted to partner and Lachlan Boughton and Alicia Taylor to special counsel.

All three promotions are within Colin Biggers & Paisley's burgeoning insurance practice, reinforcing our presence in the market and the provision of expert advice to our large insurance client base.

Laura's practice focuses on providing advice in relation to, and acting as defence and coverage counsel on, a variety of professional indemnity, financial services and construction related claims - including large scale and complex litigation matters. Laura's clients include Australian and international insurers and reinsurers as well as corporations across Asia Pacific.

Lachlan works in a range of areas including professional negligence claims, general liability, property damage, fraud and recoveries and acts for clients in the transport and logistics, legal, building and construction, property and development and financial services industries. Lachlan also has significant experience in large-scale commercial litigation and shareholder class actions.

Alicia's practice focuses on litigation, dispute resolution, conduct and compliance matters. She has experience in managing end-to-end legal claims on a range of legal issues, including personal injury, litigated and unlitigated child abuse matters across a range of courts, regulatory and court investigations, civil wrongs, privacy, professional indemnity, and matters affecting non-profits, aged care, education entities and religious institutions. 

The announcement follows the recent appointments of special counsels Shehan Gunatunga and George Williams, and senior associates Sam Harvey and Zaid Mohammed across the insurance group.
