A senior associate in the Insurance group since 2022, Selcuk's areas of focus are public and product liability and professional indemnity claims. He has extensive experience defending litigated matters, including representing clients at statutory conferences, directions hearings, informal settlement conferences and mediations.
Overview
Selcuk brings a holistic perspective to the defence of insurance claims having previously worked for insurers. With that experience, he is able to focus on the sensible resolution of claims.
Selcuk also takes the time to understand a client's business so that an ongoing working relationship is forged and any new matters with the same client are run more efficiently, saving time for clients and allowing them to focus on their own businesses.
Selcuk often acts for insurers and insureds in public liability litigation involving personal injury, for building contractors in matters involving personal injury or property damage and for insurers in worker's common law claims across a range of industries and various "slip and trip" personal injury claims.
Selcuk also acts in professional indemnity matters concerning design and construction as well as medical negligence claims.
He was also recognised in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, for high calibre work in insurance law.
Selcuk was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria on 21 May 2013 and is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia. In addition to his Bachelor of Laws, Selcuk holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University conferred in 2009.
