About us:

From our origins as a boutique Sydney practice, followed by strategic mergers, we've developed deep expertise to be the lawyers of choice in commercial law with main industry expertise in insurance, construction and property. We also have a strong focus in industries including financial services, government, transport & logistics, aged & community health, education, faith-based enterprises, corporate advisory, cyber and technology.
We are strategic partners, problem-solvers and progress-drivers, dedicated to building and securing the future for our clients, colleagues and communities.
About the role:
We are seeking a Grad (newly admitted) or junior Solicitor to join our highly regarded Brisbane Insurance Team, working within our fast-growing general liability practice under Patrick Cavanagh, Partner, and Jack Hamilton, Special Counsel.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer who wants to learn about complex insurance work, is eager to learn, motivated, and is looking to join a supportive and high performing environment.
You will act for domestic and international insurers across a broad range of disputes. The role offers some autonomy to run your own matters while working closely with senior practitioners recognised as leaders in the field.
Key responsibilities and learning areas include advising on liability and quantum, indemnity issues, and defence strategies primarily in relation to claims for damages for personal injury, ensuring advice is commercially focused and aligned with client expectations as well as attendance at settlement conference, mediations and court (with and without counsel). You will manage a varied file load, requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively. Building a deep understanding of client operations and nurturing long‑term client relationships will be essential.
This position suits a proactive, solutions‑focused lawyer committed to delivering exceptional service to insurer clients. If you are seeking a role with complexity, variety and genuine career progression within a leading insurance practice, we encourage you to apply.
The successful candidate:
