James Neal is a partner in the construction and engineering team. His expertise includes appearing in the Supreme, District, Local and Federal Courts and the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal. James is referred to in The Legal 500 (2010 Edition), Construction editorial section as "highly recommended". In 2018, and 2021 to 2023, Doyle's Guide recommended him as a leading construction and infrastructure lawyer in NSW. 

James’ practice is focused on all forms of dispute resolution and particularly on alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. He is also involved in advising on contract documentation and project risk allocation. His expertise extends to all matters related to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.

James was admitted as a solicitor in 2002. He joined the legal practice in 2004.
