Matthew Bode is the national head of the Banking and Finance team. He specialises in complex institutional banking, corporate and property finance law. He primarily acts for leading international and Australian banks and large corporate clients.
Matthew advises on property, asset and structured finance, project and acquisition finance, bilateral and syndicated lending and ISDA documentation.
He has considerable international legal experience, which has seen him act for international banks and corporations on major corporate finance deals in the mining and resources, rail, shipping and aircraft industries throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and South America. He has also advised a number of high-profile Australian companies in the beef, lamb and cotton industries.
Matthew is listed for aviation finance in Who's Who Legal: Transport 2017.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from Queensland University of Technology and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1994.
He is also admitted as a solicitor to the High Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of England and Wales, the Supreme Court of NSW and the Supreme Court of the Cayman Islands.
