Strategic HR Leadership and business partnering
- Act as the second in charge to the Director of Human Resources
- Partner with allocated groups/teams to provide strategic HR advice
- Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders
- Provide counselling and coaching to partners and people
- Develop strong relationships with the HR team, including mentoring and guiding them in their respective roles
- Together with the Director of Human Resources, lead and support the HR strategy ensuring it remains aligned to CBP's goals and strategic plan
- Proactively engage with partners, managers and employees to identify, advise and implement appropriate HR strategies to achieve effective outcomes
- Be involved in day to day HR operations and employee relations which includes complex, sensitive and confidential issues
- Work closely with leaders to manage employee performance and evaluation. Ensuring support for coaching and development for those under performing
- Work with senior leaders to advice on workforce and succession planning
- Lead initiatives to monitor and improve employee morale and retention
- Work closely with the Talent team to manage the recruitment strategy and talent acquisition process with a focus for roles within your allocated team
- Develop strategies for talent retention and professional development
- Work with appropriate external suppliers to build and foster relationships for quality outcomes
- Identify and manage key HR projects
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies and initiatives
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to assess firmwide training needs and implement learning initiatives
- Lead the annual remuneration review process
- Manage and complete all data and reporting for Mercer (salary benchmarking tool). This includes conducting job evaluations
- Advise leadership on pay equity, internal parity and reward strategy
- Complete the annual WGEA submission and relevant internal reporting
- Work closely with the Project Manager to implement the new payroll/HRSS system
- Lead the development of HR dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide insight into workforce trends, turnover, engagement, and compensation data
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc HR reports and analytics for senior leadership
- Partner with the Finance team to align HR metrics with organisational performance indicators
- Manage the integrity of HR data in systems (e.g.HRIS), and oversee audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Advise on complex employee issues, focussing on minimising risk and maintaining CBP culture
- Ensure compliance with all relevant awards, employment law and professionals standards
- Address sensitive investigations and disciplinary actions with discretion and integrity
- Assist in reviewing, developing and maintain all policies and procedures
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Finance or Law
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in a legal environment
- Experience successfully managing direct reports
- Proven experience managing remuneration strategies and HR reporting at a senior level
- Experience implementing strategic HR projects and initiatives
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate actionable insights to leaders
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, advanced excel and data analytics tools
- Demonstrated understanding of law firm financial metrics
- Ability to influence and provide true HR business partnering at all levels
- Experience working in partnership models within professional a services environment
- Ability to provide sound operational/generalist HR advice and support
