National legal practice Colin Biggers & Paisley is pleased to announce the appointment of Selcuk Gokmen to it's insurance team. Selcuk joins the practice as a senior associate based in Melbourne.

Selcuk's experience both in the insurance industry and in private practice allows him to bring a holistic perspective to the defence of insurance claims. His appointment enhances Colin Biggers & Paisley's liability team in Melbourne where he will be working closely with partner Ana Kolovos and special counsel Tim Coghlan

Co-Group Head of the national Insurance team, Cathryn Prowse, said the team is in a growth trajectory and that Selcuk's experience would further strengthen the group's national liability practice.

"Sel's appointment is in direct alignment with our values and culture and we're absolutely delighted to welcome him to our Melbourne team. With more than a decade's experience in insurance law, combined with experience working for a multinational insurance company, his skills and vibrant energy will be invaluable in his work with Ana and Tim who lead our large liability portfolio."

Selcuk's practice primarily focuses on defending litigated matters, and he works with a range of clients, including insurers, builders, contractors, host employers, contractors, universities, and occupiers of premises.

The appointment of Selcuk follows the announcement of six senior promotions in the insurance team earlier this year, and the recent appointments of Deanne Methven and Marina Basile to the practice's property team.
