Timothy Coghlan is a senior associate in the insurance team. He has extensive experience working in insurance and commercial litigation for some of Australia's largest insurers.

Timothy has acted in a number public liability, product liability and property damage matters. He has a depth of practical experience in litigation including advising on claims brought against local Council, residential home owners, building companies, supermarkets, shopping centres, hospitals, owners of commercial premises, exhibition centres, logistics companies and retail stores. He acts primarily in the defence of personal injury claims involving public liability matters, workplace accidents and defending Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA) statutory recoveries and common law and occupiers liability matters. Timothy also acts in product liability claims brought pursuant to the Australian Consumer Law.

Timothy has had court appearances at the Supreme Court, County Court, VCAT and Magistrates’ Court and experience in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia jurisdictions. 

Timothy has a Bachelor of Journalism in addition to his Bachelor of Laws. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2013.
