Patrick Tuohey is a partner in the insurance team.

Patrick's expertise is in professional indemnity claims. He acts in defence of claims made against lawyers and their respective insurers. He acts also for other professionals, including accountants, financial advisors, real estate agents, conveyancers and the full range of insured construction professionals (engineers, building surveyors etc). His practice includes both large and small claim matters in all Victorian courts and tribunals, and also in the Federal jurisdictions.

Patrick is experienced in providing coverage advice to insurer clients in respect of a broad range of policies and insurance issues. Patrick's insurer clients are based both locally and internationally.

Doyle's Guide listed Patrick as a recommended Melbourne professional indemnity lawyer in 2015 and 2018, and a leading lawyer in this area in 2016, 2017 and 2019. He is listed in the 2018-2023 editions of The Best Lawyers in Australia in the field of alternative dispute resolution and in the 2020-2023 editions for insurance law. In the 2019-2023 editions, Best Lawyers recognised him as a leading litigation lawyer. He is also recognised in the 2022 and 2023 editions for professional malpractice litigation.

Patrick was admitted as a solicitor in Victoria in 2005. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria, as well as the Federal Court and High Court of Australia. Patrick has been a partner of Colin Biggers & Paisley since 2013.
