Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team in Brisbane continues its expansion with five new appointments, including special counsel George Williams who has re-joined the practice. Solicitor Alice Elliott and paralegals Jordon Baillie, Aidan O'Callaghan and Georgia Williams have also been welcomed.

The new team members are part of the expansion of Georgina Wong's team. Since becoming a partner in January 2023, Georgina has been cementing a position and presence in the Queensland market for workers' compensation, institutional risk and liability, dust disease injuries and general liability.

Georgina Wong commented:

"I am excited to welcome back George along with welcoming Alice, Jordon, Aidan and Georgia. We are in a strong phase of growth and we recognise our clients' growing needs for expert legal representation across specialist liability lines of business. George's expertise and experience compliment the team's capabilities and will add significant resources to service our clients in the industry."

George's practice has a dual focus. He has extensive experience managing casualty and personal injury claims in the pre-court proceedings process and litigation. George has significant expertise in defending workplace health and safety prosecutions and assisting employers with reviews of decisions with the workers’ compensation regulator.

George Williams commented:

"I am delighted to re-join Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team. I look forward to working alongside my talented colleagues to provide comprehensive legal support and representation to our clients. Together, we will continue to strengthen our position and meet the needs of our valued clients in Queensland."

Cathryn Prowse, Colin Biggers & Paisley's joint insurance practice leader commented:

"The growth in Georgina's team is fantastic. It shows that our commitment to attracting and nurturing first-rate practitioners has been working notwithstanding some challenging market factors. I look forward to continuing to support Georgina, George, and the rest of the team with their focus on delivering commercial solutions for their clients."

This announcement follows the recent promotions of Tim Coghlan to partner and Ben Bemand, Alex Doddridge, John Georgas, Dilusha Jayasekara, Hannah Goodman, Demi McGowan, Fred Mitri and Victoria Skeats to senior associate, and the arrival of senior associate Alexandra King.
